Product description
The optical fiber identifier quickly detects whether traffic is flowing through a fiber and in which direction, without damaging the fiber or interrupting the connection. The fiber is gently bent inside the device, and the small amount of light that escapes is sufficient for detection.
When traffic is present, the unit emits a periodic audible tone and displays relative signal strength. The FF-3306B also recognizes modulation test tones at 270 Hz, 1 kHz and 2 kHz; when a frequency is detected, the audible tone becomes continuous. The kit includes four adapter heads for fiber diameters of 0.25, 0.9, 2.0 and 3.0 mm. The operating wavelength range is 800 to 1700 nm. Powered by a 9 V alkaline battery.
