Optical Laser Source

The Grandway FHS2DO2F is an optical light source from the FHS2 series, an advanced model with improved specifications and additional features. The light source injects a signal of known power into the fiber, while a power meter at the far end reads how much light arrived — the difference gives the link attenuation. The device supports automatic wavelength identification: the signal carries a digitally encoded wavelength ID protocol, so a Grandway FHP2 power meter automatically selects the correct calibration wavelength. This reduces the need for coordination between two technicians and minimizes errors. A single output port delivers stable laser power at two wavelengths, and the unit operates in continuous (CW) or modulated mode. The FHS2DO2F has output adjustable within ±3 dB, a rechargeable Ni-MH battery, a backlit LCD display, and wavelengths of 850 and 1300 nm for multimode fiber measurement.
